90/366- Glow

Replaced a light with one that gives off a pure white rather than the usual yellow warm colour. I liked the feeling, but just couldn't cature it how I felt it. I'll let it sit for a while and maybe something will come up

89/366- Mah Jong

Dad was trying to figure out Mah Jong... not the computer version, lol. Originaly was going to make the green stand out, but decided to go with the red. Used the magic wand to select the red, then inverted the selection and converted to B&W, and finally a saturation bump. The red is symbolistic of, at least Chinese culture, good luck. Now to only find the lucky number in Chinese culture...

Hmm... they have a lot: 1, 2, 6, 7, 8

87/366- CD-R

Our 115G harddrive is down to 19G due to the number of pictures we have on it(many mine). Also some programs(a few are mine to). Was able to clear up prob about 4-5G. I have a CORR race that over 2 days must have about 10G, haha. Thinking about getting an external harddrive. Hope to be getting a laptop soon and would be great for me to put my programs and games on it, then onto the laptop. We'll see what happens

Our hybiscus plant has aphids all over it, so we thought we'd try one of those bags of ladybugs you can get at Home Depot. They stayed for a little bit, but flew away. Time for soap and water to kill the aphids now X_X

81/366- New Eagle Scout

My brother had his Eagle Court of Honour. If you don't know, Eagle Scout is the highest rank in Boy Scouts of America. About 2% of scouts reach this rank. This was at the church and then went to Backwoods for lunch. BBQ, mmm

I'm using a different camera due to mine being in the shop getting cleaned. Also, don't let the "mm" fool you. It's a step up from regular point and shoots, but not an SLR, so the sensor and lense and other things must be set up differently. An SLR couldn't do 6.3 unless it was a fisheye

80/366- Tools

My camera got pretty mused up from the race on the 15th due to the 20mph winds and 40mph gusts. Even after cleaning the sensor there was still dust on it! (cloned out a handfull from Driving Blur yesterday). So the body and the 18-55 are at the Canon Service Centre in Irvine awaiting to be cleaned... for $288 :( Oh well. Had to be done and couldn't put it off any longer. I can't wait to get a new camera body. Self cleaning sensor will be mandatory, lol

Oh, and due to the cleaning, I've decided to cancel my 17-85 for the time being. Looked on the family email and noticed it's been shipped! Called UPS, who said I had to call the seller to intercept said package, and called Broadway Photo, who's closed! So, I've decided to let it ship and I can just play with it for a few days and then send it back, lol. See if I like it. Nothing wrong with that... except I have a hood and filter that won't be used for a while after that :(

61/366- Joshua Tree and Gorgonio is also up, so take a look at that one ;) Sorry for the wait on that

78/366- Jelly Beans

Was eating some jelly beans today. I don't like the purple ones and was picking them out... I dropped on on the floor in the process. I looked for it, but didn't find it. As I started out fo the kitchen I kicked it under the fridge. I then thought it'd be fun to put the purple jelly beans on the blue squares. I hope no one eats them as I put them back XD

Decided I'd pay the extra $45 to up my ordered lense from the plastic one to the magnesium one. However, I think that just just before we finished, he said the total was $520 or something! I thought it'd be like 395ish?! I'll call them tomorrow to get it cleared up and perhaps not go with the 1yr warrenty(if it's the metal one, it can be fixed, so why have it?) otherwise, I'll change it back to the plastic one

74/366- Joshua Tree in the Snow

This was amazing I thought. I was out shooting the MORE Balls Out 250 in Barstow. Sunny all day up until about 2ish, then was cloudy to the south. When driving through Victorville, I noticed that the rain wasn't making drops on the windows. I wondered if it was snowing. Question was answered just before hitting Hesperia when I noticed a light dusting then got progresivly heavier into Hesperia. Pulled off at Joshua and took some pics. This was my favorite. You may also notice that the left side of the Joshua Tree is devoid of snow. This was due to the 20mph sustained winds. This is the 3rd time I've seen snow fall and a first for being in the snow for my truck, lol

Why have the past few pictures have such high shutter speeds? GAH, I forgot to set my ISO from 1600 back down to 100 after taking my 61/366- Guitar pic!!! Stupid me >_<

72/366- Thermoscope

My brother's Five Bubble Galileo Thermometer. This thermometer works by the air temperature changing the density of the clear liquid in the tube. This liquid isn't water, but an inert hydrocarbon. The density then varies depending on the air. This causes the bubbles to rise or fall. As can be seen in the picture, the temperature is about 70ยบ (Another bubble, not shown, is 68ยบ). To learn more, look here: Galileo Thermometer Wiki

66/366- Metal Abstract

Went to a metal yard today to pick up some, well... metal, for a project my brother has to do for the AG program at school. I also got some pricings for metal I need for my TIG class. The pattern of this U-shaped metal intrigued me so I got a pic of it. Then messed with some lens distortion settings.

Was supposed to be here by the weekendish, but called where I ordered it from to verify my order and the guy said 6-8weeks. Got an email from them and apparently it's out of stock and on backorder...
